The Cadillac Lyriq is GM's Ultium luxury SUV, and it charges at home two ways: the standard 11.5 kW (48 amps) that suits almost everyone, or an available 19.2 kW onboard charger - a rare upgrade that puts the Lyriq in the small club of EVs able to charge faster than 48 amps. It runs a large ~102 kWh battery through a J1772 port.
Standard 11.5 kW: right for most
On the standard charger, a 48-amp home charger does a 10-to-80-percent top-up in about 6 hours - a comfortable overnight, adding roughly 26 miles of range per hour. For anyone who plugs in nightly, that is all the Lyriq needs, and it costs about $11 at the US average rate.

The 19.2 kW option: when it earns its keep
The optional 19.2 kW onboard charger needs an 80-amp circuit (100-amp breaker) and a charger that can supply it - a bigger, pricier install that may raise a panel-capacity question. In return it roughly halves charge time on the big pack. It is worth it only if you routinely run the Lyriq down and need it back fast; otherwise the standard 48-amp setup is the sensible, cheaper choice. Our amperage guide weighs it up.
