This is the only question that matters. All Teslas, now and for the foreseeable future? The standard Wall Connector's native NACS plug is all you need. A Tesla plus any J1772 car - a partner's EV, a future non-Tesla purchase? The Universal charges both from one unit without a loose adapter.

Are you future-proofing?

If you are confident your next EV could be a non-Tesla J1772 car, the Universal hedges that bet - it will charge whatever shows up. If you are firmly a Tesla household and expect to stay one, that hedge is money spent on capability you will not use.

Is a Tesla-specific charger even the right call?
