The Ultimate's speed advantage exists only when it is hardwired to a 60-amp circuit and your car's onboard charger accepts 11.5 kW. If your panel cannot support a 60-amp circuit, or your car caps AC at 40 amps or less, the Ultimate charges no faster than the Classic - so the decision collapses to install method and weather rating. Do you want plug-in flexibility or a permanent fixture?
