A Hyundai Ioniq 9 charges at home for roughly fourteen dollars for a typical 10-to-80-percent top-up on its 110 kWh pack, overnight. The number that sets the speed is the onboard AC charger: the Ioniq 9 accepts up to about 11 kW, or 48 amps, so a bigger charger adds nothing at home. The 48-amp ceiling is the car, not the charger
The Ioniq 9 uses Hyundai's 800-volt E-GMP platform, built for very fast DC charging on a trip. At home on AC it is limited by its onboard charger to roughly 11 kW (about 48 amps). How long it takes
At the full 11 kW the Ioniq 9 adds roughly 26 to 31 miles of range per hour - a big, heavy three-row SUV is less efficient than a sedan, so miles-per-hour is modest even at full power. The large pack makes a full charge an overnight job; a daily top-up is not.
Roughly, at 48 amps / 11 kW (110 kWh pack):
- Overnight 10 to 80 percent (~77 kWh): about 7 hours
- A 40-mile daily commute back: about 1.5 hours
- Empty to full: about 10 hours - which is why you schedule it overnight
Plugged in each night, the Ioniq 9 is full every morning; you only ever wait on the big fills before a road trip, and those you would do on DC anyway.
What it costs
Same formula as any EV: energy into the battery, divided by ~0.90 for losses, times your rate. For a 10-to-80-percent refill (~77 kWh into the pack):
- Energy drawn from the wall: 77 / 0.90 = ~85.6 kWh
- At the US average of about $0.16/kWh: 85.6 x $0.16 = about $13.70
- Cost per mile at ~2.6 mi/kWh: about 6.1 cents, or ~$6.10 per 100 miles

The charger: native NACS, so mind the connector
The 2026 Ioniq 9 has a native NACS charge port for both AC and DC - a first for a Hyundai in the US. Two clean ways to charge it at home:
- A NACS-native Level 2 charger (such as a Tesla Wall Connector) plugs straight in.
