The number that sets your speed is the car's onboard AC charger, and Ford's split three ways:

- F-150 Lightning (standard range): up to 48 amps / 11.5 kW, same as the Mach-E.
- F-150 Lightning (extended range): a dual 40-amp onboard charger totaling 80 amps / 19.2 kW- but that peak is only reachable through Ford's Charge Station Pro on a dedicated 100-amp circuit. On a standard 48-amp charger, it charges at 48 amps like everything else.
The takeaway: unless you own an Extended-Range Lightning and want its full 19.2 kW and can run a 100-amp circuit, a 48-amp charger is the right buy - and even for that truck, 48 amps is a perfectly good everyday rate. The arithmetic is standard: 48 amps at 240 volts is 11.5 kW, and because charging is a continuous load, a 48-amp charger needs a 60-amp breaker (48 x 1.25 = 60) and a hardwire. 2. Where does the vehicle park?
A Mach-E in a garage can buy on features and price.
