Buy the Grizzl-E Ultimate if you want the toughest cast-aluminum, weatherproof shell for a harsh outdoor or cold-climate mount. Speed
A tie. Both are 48 amps / 11.5 kW and both need the same wiring to get there - a 60-amp circuit, because a 48-amp continuous load requires a breaker sized at 48 x 1.25. App and features
The Wallbox wins on capability, with an asterisk. It offers Power Boostto keep a whole-home draw under the panel's limit and Power Sharing to split one circuit across two chargers - genuinely useful if your panel is tight or you charge two EVs. The Grizzl-E Ultimate is deliberately minimal - adjustable amperage but no app ecosystem - so there is less software to be frustrated by, and less it can do.
Build and durability
The Grizzl-E Ultimate takes this decisively. Its cast-aluminum enclosure is rated IP67 / NEMA 4X with built-in GFCI and full over-current, over-voltage and over-temperature protection - the shell you want for an exposed wall or a cold climate, which is why it leads our best outdoor and cold-weather picks. The Wallbox is Energy Star and UL certified and well-built, but its compact body is not built for the same abuse.
Install and flexibility
Both are hardwired only, so neither unplugs to travel. The difference is footprint: the Wallbox is one of the physically smallest 48-amp chargers you can hang, so it suits a cramped garage wall or a spot where a big box would look out of place. The Grizzl-E Ultimate is a larger, heavier brick - the trade-off for that armored shell.
Value
A wash that depends on what you value. Pay for the Wallbox if the compact size and load management solve a real problem - a tight panel or a two-EV driveway. How to choose between them
Does your panel need load management?
If your electrical panel is near capacity, Power Boost lets the Wallbox throttle its draw so the whole house stays under the main breaker, and Power Sharing splits one circuit between two chargers. The Grizzl-E Ultimate has neither. A tight panel or a second EV tips this to the Wallbox.
Where is the charger mounted?
For a sheltered garage, either shell is fine and the Wallbox's size is the nicer feature. For an exposed exterior wall or a cold northern climate, the Grizzl-E Ultimate's cast-aluminum IP67 body is the safer long-term choice.
How much do you care about the app?
The Wallbox does more from your phone but has a spottier app reputation; the Grizzl-E does less and keeps software out of the way. Decide whether the smart features are worth the risk of app friction, or whether you would rather not have an app at all.
