The Grizzl-E Ultimate wins on paper. It is a dedicated 48-amp / 11.5 kW unit, while the EVIQO tops out at 40 amps / 9.6 kW. The catch is that the Ultimate only reaches 48 amps when it is hardwired to a 60-amp circuit(48 x 1.25, since EV charging is a continuous load) and only when your car's onboard charger actually accepts 11.5 kW. App and features
The EVIQO takes this one. It brings a Wi-Fi app with scheduling that undercuts the established brands - useful on a time-of-use electricity plan. The Grizzl-E Ultimate keeps software to a minimum: it is adjustable from 16 to 48 amps, but there is no polished energy-monitoring app at the center of it. If you want to set-and-forget from your phone, the EVIQO is the smarter box; if you never intend to open an app, that gap does not matter.
Build and durability
The Grizzl-E Ultimate is the tougher unit. Its cast-aluminum enclosure is rated IP67 / NEMA 4X and listed for indoor or outdoor use, with built-in GFCI and over-current, over-voltage and over-temperature protection. The EVIQO is no lightweight - it carries both a UL and an ETL listing plus an IP66 / NEMA 4 weather rating, which is unusually broad certification for its price - but a sealed cast-aluminum shell has less to fail over a decade bolted to an outside wall.
Install and flexibility
The EVIQO is the flexible one. It plugs into a NEMA 14-50 outlet, so if a rated receptacle already exists you can install it yourself and unplug it if you move. How to choose between them
Can your setup actually use 48 amps?
The Ultimate's speed advantage is real only if you can install a 60-amp circuit and your car accepts 11.5 kW. On a 50-amp circuit, or with a car that caps AC charging at 40 amps, it charges no faster than the 40-amp EVIQO. Check the breaker and your car's onboard charger limit first.
Plug-in freedom or a permanent fixture?
The EVIQO's NEMA 14-50 plug lets you self-install and take it with you; the hardwired Ultimate is a fixture you leave behind. If you rent or might move, that flexibility usually outweighs the extra amps.
How much weatherproofing do you need?
Both are outdoor-rated, but the Ultimate's cast-aluminum IP67 shell is built for the harshest mounting spots. If the charger lives in a sheltered garage, the EVIQO's IP66 body is already more than enough.
